I have been working like a dog! And I am very happy that things are getting finished. It’s a very good feeling.

West Walks

Received the paperback today. I paid for the uber fast delivery option but it still took forever. I opted for the 150gsm paper stock but on reflection I’m going to scale back to 115gsm. The 150 is too stiff. That said, the book is gorgeous.

I’m having trouble with the Amazon page. The paperback listing is a mess, no formatting on the product description and the delivery time is 4-6 months. Someone is having a laugh! Currently the paperback is only available via Bookvault.

So now I need to fix the ridiculously expensive digital file and also create a KDP print version. Ugh. Thank God I opted for a soft launch. Lots of screw ups and I’ve missed the Christmas presents opportunity but that’s life. I’m not going to sweat it, I doubt I’ve lost many sales.

Shopify

And the reason I’m going for a soft launch is that I really want to launch it on Shopify. Which is still causing me headaches but now that I have finished the second draft of Maps/Magic I am good to go.

Hiverton - AI Voices

I’ve sent out some test versions of the audio book for Dear Diary and am about to mention it on SM and add a link in my newsletter. This will only be available to subscribers but will be free.

Maps/Magic

Second draft is done! Now it can go to my agent. I’m sending it out to a few Alpha readers and I’m going to send the first three chapters to my mailing list. I’m looking forward to the feedback. Fingers crossed it will be positive.

Next Week

• I want to launch Shopify. Quietly, whilst we iron out the bugs.

• Send out end of year newsletters to my mailing list.

• Tell everyone about West Walks, although I miss the Christmas present deadline :D

• Start planning for 2024
